The Weasels,

Paul Lee resigns from the DDA he owns Clio Computers from what I hear he quit after the City of Clio wouldn’t re-in burst him for the sewer backup into his building.  Paul Lee was added to the DDA to make sure the Walgreens approval vote went through Jack Abernathy added him.  I’m glad to see the riff raff is now gone!  Why join if you don’t have the balls to hang in there and support Clio.  That’s right Paul Lee no one owns the sewers wait until you get the methane gas explosions up through your vents and the smell lasts for two days!  Now do us all a favor paint that shit brown building a decent color it looks like a big brown turd.  Remember citizens of Clio he was added to the DDA to vote for the Walgreens build and then quit.  It’s up to you but if you want to get your point across it’s a retail shop don’t go in there this is just a suggestion.   Also remember that Janet Barlow just like Paul Lee voted to tear down a city block just so a Walgreen’s could be built right next to a Rite Aid.  Keep signing the petition at CityofClio.com to get rid of Janet Barlow so this doesn’t happen ever again and also remember the City of Clio paid $8,500+ of your tax moneys to get assessment for the parking lots on the S.W. corner to sell to Walgreens.  People of Clio it’s your parking lots you paid for them with your taxes!  That $8,500+ money’s could have been used for snow plowing or into the park or even into the schools! You can thank Jack Abernathy for all this when you see him again lets all pray and give thanks that Jack Abernathy is gone back to Davison where his small town is still intact.  Jack Abernathy is now gone, Paul Lee quit the DDA but is still in town, Janet Barlow is next to go…

As more and more people rent out the buildings in lovely Clio I will be making a new game plan not only to get rid of the Weasels but to make the older part of Clio boom again!

To all Clio residents and City officials,
CITY OF CLIO OFFICIALS INVEST THE CITIZENS MONEY WISELY!  AFTER ALL YOU WORK FOR US AND CLIO DOES NOT NEED ANOTHER VACANT BUILDING!
Instead of wrecking and dismantling a whole city block for another drug store. Why don't the Clio City officials do something with the Clio Plaza where the movie theatre is?  What is being done with the vacant grocery store at the Clio Plaza? That would be perfect for a Walgreen's or any other retail chain to move into.  Before the city decides to keep spending the citizen’s tax dollars on something that is not wanted, and disturbing, disrupting, and forcing  the residents and businesses to tolerate and swallow what the Clio City officials want to spend millions of dollars on, the City of Clio must make use of what they already have, The Clio Plaza has plenty of space for several businesses to open up. If I was looking to open up a business it would be more cost effective and a time saver to lease or buy a building than creating a construction zoo for a long period of time in my future potential customers front doors. Clio has a work force that is abundant and readily available in Clio and the logistics and transportation aspects are established and easily accessible these three factors are the life lines businesses must have before moving to a location.
City of Clio it is must and a need for the City to spend the money on the Clio Plaza. Vacant buildings are havens for drug and other criminal activity. Thus making the City of Clio an undesirable location and endangering the schools, children, residents and businesses in the area. The Clio Plaza is a great location and opportunity for retail stores, family dining, and various other businesses to be successful. There are hundreds of future customers living in the apartment complexes just behind the Plaza, plus school officials and bus drivers that work near by. Investing in the Clio Plaza could create hundreds of new permanent jobs and possibly millions in revenues! Many of Clio’s residents go to Flint or Birch Run for their shopping and dining activities.  CITY OF CLIO OFFICIALS INVEST THE CITIZENS MONEY WISELY!  AFTER ALL YOU WORK FOR US AND CLIO DOES NOT NEED ANOTHER VACANT BUILDING!

Sincerely,
Jennifer Schroeder

    There Still Coming,
On March 4th the City of Clio votes to pay the THA Architects $2,500 called (Walgreens site study) along with the property assessments totaling in the amount of $5,915.00. (Link to Document March 4th) now remember Walgreen’s backed out in January.  Looks like to me that the City of Clio has the Walgreens site study listed just one time so there are no problem for them in the future and the City can say its listed right on our web site!  From what I hear the THA document was turned down by the Clio City commission and then went back to the DDA to pay the THA another $2,051.70 + Otis stout’s fee for the Ordinance update on this document April 26th, 2010.  (Link to Document April 26th)  Most likely it was voted on again at the April 26th, 2010 meeting Clio still pushing forward with the Walgreens builds.  The ordinance update paying the THA another $2,401.70 was the bill approved by the DDA at the May 24th, 2010 meeting.  Now totaling $8,316.70+ all this just to tear down a city block the majority of Clio people don’t want Walgreen’s.  Remember the parking lots on the southwest corner belong to the people of Clio and the City is going to sell them out from under you! The City of Clio is being sneaky about the Walgreens build.   Call the City of Clio and tell them what you think.  If you have any questions just call the City and speak to Jack Abernathy at 686-5850 Click here listen to the Walgreens lawyer David Campbell saying he’s coming back in 90 days this was right after the first contracts were cancelled.  Listen that 90 days is just about up...  NOW listen all this being said ask yourself if most of this info came from the City of Clio’s web site do you really think that Walgreens has backed down! It can’t be anymore clear… NOW DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.  Have you ever made a decision in life and then later say what the hell was I thinking I’m sure most of you have as have I think about it to tear down a whole City block because at the moment you think it’s the right thing to do just so Walgreen’s can tear down a City block to build across the street from Rite Aid but later on when one has gone bankrupt well you get the message.  Look into the future do you really want your quiet little town to bring in well you know!  How about wait until one has gone under either Rite Aid or Walgreens we win either way if its Walgreen’s that goes under well we win because Rite is still there and if Rite Aid dies out then let Walgreens in there building where Rite Aid is no harm done if it’s done that way. Remember people of Clio why kill Borden’s that has served the City of Clio for years and years.  The City of Clio is mostly residential property’s it’s great to have the Rite Aid that is already there.  There is no need for a Walgreens support Borden’s don’t you think they deserved it.   Walgreen’s is based on stock holder investor moneys to drive out Rite Aid no matter what they say.  David Campbell/ Walgreen’s are the Devil for Clio.  Hey make your own decision.  Keep signing the petitions!  Recently I told one of the business owners I have cash to buy your building they said NO and couldn’t look me in the face an easy tell.  Now really think about it someone has cash to pay for your building that you have for sale and they tell you NO but you are offering the asking price!  They are currently under new contracts…   For a city like Clio that is so strapped for cash they are paying money to the THA for what!   Walgreens has backed out (bullshit) why not put that money to good use and fix up the front of one of the buildings in question it’s all a lie to deceive the good people of Clio it’s makes me sick everything that is going on and should make you all sick too!  STOP the rain of the select few sign the petition online or where ever you can and call the news or call the Clio City offices.   I totally lost my way in all this mess in the beginning I was going to contact Rite Aid who better to stop a Walgreen’s how much you want to bet they have an office within Rite Aid that helps out with this type of stuff.  Also check out CityofClio.com to sign the petition to get rid of Janet Barlow! SaveClio now has two business’s ready to go in and open in the empty spaces right now the two business’s won’t go in and rent any space until the Walgreen’s build go’s away for good and at least one of the buildings are secure from this reoccurring again. If you are saying to yourself why not go in now it does no good for a business to set up and then a month later they are asked or told to leave!  I am also working on two more business’s which would fill up the current buildings.   Jack Abernathy knows what’s going on he’s going to do as much damage as he can until he’s gone for good! I'm also still trying to get Micheal Moore into town with his cameras he's a little tuff to get ahold of but I'm still picking at it!      Thanks, SaveClio

City of Clio to push foward and tear

 down Historical Clio

March 9th, 2010

The News,
The City of Clio is pushing forward with the Walgreens build.  On February 22nd in the City of Clio DDA meetings the agenda was the THA a company that will do a work up on the site where Walgreens wants to build.  March 4th the DDA had a special meeting and approved to pay for the assessment on the parking lots on the southwest corner of Clio and Vienna roads and is also paying the THA $2,500.00 to do a workup on the Clio’s Historical buildings for the Walgreens to be built its all in the agenda and labeled “Walgreens”.  This meeting was done on purpose to approve these bills to be payed and to move forward with the Walgreen’s build.  All news channels and newspapers will be notified ASAP!  I’ve been on vacation and missed the meetings.  How is the public supposed to know about these special meetings when where they called?  As of march 9th the City of Clio has not even posted the minutes for the February 22nd DDA meeting.  The City of Clio is being sneaky and it’s not right to the people of Clio.  Ask yourself this:  If Walgreen’s has backed out why is the City of Clio paying $5,250 for the Walgreen’s assessment the City can’t even afford to pay to have a parking lot plowed out correctly but they pay $5,250.00 for an assessment.  Just more lies from David Campbell/ Walgreen’s to stop all the bad press.  It’s my guess that Jack Abernathy is going to push the Walgreen’s build through and then quit.   Announcement of someone to replace his job is in the news paper already.

"Heard It Through The Grape Vine"

Did the City of Clio sign a contract with the state of Michigan and except $15,000 to do a blue print of Downtown Clio?  I beleive in that contract that the City of Clio signed states Clio cannot make any major changes to Historical Clio until 2013.  I beleive the contract that was signed was for 5 years starting in 2008 check for your self; call the City of Clio and ask them!

About a year and a half ago Walgreens came into Vienna Twp. Walgreens was looking to build on Jennings road Walgreens asked the home owners to sell they said NO!  Now Walgreens wants to tear down Historical Clio and build on the southwest corner on the corner of Clio and Vienna roads.  Three weeks or so ago someone a big real estate company most likely the Walgreens lawyer David Campbell is doing title serarches on the Jenning Road property.  Why I have no idea there is 10 arces wide open on the corner or Jenning and Vienna FOR SALE!  Hey! heres a great idea lets teardown some houses when there is 10 acres wide open for sale with a huge for sale sign plain as day!

Historic Michigan Downtown

By Lauren MayerOnline OnlyFeb. 3, 2010

Late last week the city of Clio, Mich., confirmed that Walgreens has withdrawn a proposal for a store in its historic downtown. Walgreens' decision saved several privately owned businesses as well as a portion of a public walkway and two parking lots.

"The buildings are a part of the character that is there, and it would have been a shame to lose them," says Ellen Thackery, Field Representative at the Michigan Historic Preservation Network. Read more about Partners in the Field

Clio already has four other pharmacies, and the proposed Walgreens would have been located diagonally across from a Rite Aid.

Clio weighs Walgreens building plan

(01/10/10) -- Downtown Clio could be in store for some big changes.

Walgreens wants to tear down seven buildings in the southwest corner of Vienna and Mill Streets to put up a new, 14,000-square-foot store.

The Clio city administrator reports Walgreens already has signed purchase agreements for all seven buildings, but this proposal is far from a done deal.

The Downtown Development Authority plans to meet Monday to discuss whether or not it supports the Walgreens plan. The DDA will then give a recommendation to the city commission, which has ultimate say over the project.

Clio resident David Ripka is one who isn't sold on the idea. "It's a little bit of overkill. You're gonna have two drug stores, and then you've got Borden's right down the street. So within the block you're going to have three pharmacies, and I doubt that's gonna bring drug prices down."

The DDA meeting is at 6 p.m. Monday at City Hall.    VIDEO CLICK HERE
